At the end of the two Metro Regional Connector tunnels that run underneath 2nd Street in Downtown Los Angeles is a construction site where crews build a crossover area where trains will be able to switch tracks on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. On Friday, March 15, 2019, students in Los Angeles joined Swede Greta Thunberg’s “Friday’s for the Future” campaign by striking from schools around Los Angeles and participating in a protest rally and march at Los Angeles City Hall. The Los Angeles Youth Climate Strike was organized by 17-year-old Los Angeleño Arielle Martinez-Cohen.
